Policies and practices in special education in the state of Alagoas - beginnings and present

Special education is the area focused on organizing practices and scientific studies centered on students with disabilities, referred to as the target audience of special education since 2008 by the National Policy on Special Education from the Perspective of Inclusive Education (PNEEPEI). This area has been expressed through educational periods, known as segregation, integration, and school inclusion. These periods were influenced by policies, expressed both in legally binding documents and guidelines. Therefore, it is extremely necessary to understand these historical periods in order to better comprehend the current situation of special education in the state of Alagoas. Thus, this article is a bibliographic review of five studies, focusing on analyzing these works to extract information about the policies and pedagogical practices expressed in special education in the state of Alagoas.
