PARA ALÉM DA “PEDRA E CAL”: ESCAVAÇÕES ARQUEOLÓGICAS EM MARECHAL DEODORO – ALAGOAS

Abstract

Nos últimos anos foram implementadas pesquisas arqueológicas no centro histórico de Marechal Deodoro, Alagoas, município que corresponde à primeira capital alagoana e tem um significativo número de registro de sítios arqueológicos pré-coloniais e históricos. O artigo pretende apresentar um panorama dos resgates arqueológicos realizados no centro urbano histórico de Marechal Deodoro entre os anos de 2016 a 2018, especificamente nas obras de requalificações dos Largo do Carmo e Largo da Matriz, áreas tombadas no município. Os trabalhos tiveram por objetivo atender a legislação vigente de proteção ao patrimônio arqueológico, mitigando possíveis danos causados pelas obras.

Bacharel e licenciada em Ciências Sociais, com ênfase em Antropologia e Arqueologia, pela Universidade Federal de Alagoas. Mestra e Doutora em Arqueologia pelo PROARQ - Universidade Federal de Sergipe. Áreas de atuação:Arqueologia Histórica e Pré-Colonial, Arqueologia Pública, Arqueologia Pós-Colonial, Arqueologia Urbana, Arqueologia Preventiva, Arqueologia em áreas Indígenas do Nordeste.
