Abstract
A materialidade do garimpo, crucial na formação territorial da Chapada Velha, foi bastante evocada na etnografia arqueológica que disseminei com habitantes de Gentio do Ouro e Xique-Xique, no estado da Bahia. Argumento que tal território é concebido por significados locais e influências externas.
