Abstract

The "Amamenta HUPAA" Extension Project promotes exclusive and continued breastfeeding through educational activities and teaching materials for pregnant and postpartum women at the Professor Alberto Antunes University Hospital (HUPAA). Led by Nutrition and Psychology students from UFAL, it includes weekly visits with discussion groups and informative materials based on scientific guidelines. The activities expand knowledge about breastfeeding, help overcome challenges and reinforce adherence to breastfeeding. In addition to in-person interventions, content is shared on social media (Instagram), expanding the reach of information and ensuring that more breastfeeding women have access to reliable guidance, contributing to ongoing support. The interdisciplinary approach and accessible materials strengthen the positive impact on maternal and child health, demonstrating the effectiveness of educational strategies in the hospital and digital context.
