Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relevance of physical activity as a tool for promoting mental health and overall well-being, highlighting its importance in the formulation of public policies aimed at improving quality of life, especially in the context of healthy aging. Regular physical exercise has been recognized for its positive effects on the individual’s overall health, contributing not only to the prevention of chronic diseases but also to emotional and psychological balance. The adopted methodology is based on a quali-quantitative approach, with an emphasis on field research, combining qualitative and quantitative elements for a broader understanding of the phenomenon studied. Data collection made it possible to identify perceptions, habits, and behaviors related to physical activity and its influence on participants' quality of life. The final considerations highlight that adopting healthy habits, such as regular physical activity, is essential for both physical and mental well-being, regardless of age group. Although most research participants are under 60 years old, the results indicate that an active lifestyle significantly contributes to healthier aging. In this regard, the need for public policies that encourage and ensure the population’s access to body practices and physical activities as an integral part of health promotion and disease prevention strategies is reinforced.
